– Celebrating 125 Years of Noël Coward –
A charity gala celebrating the life and legacy of internationally acclaimed playwright, composer, director, actor and singer Sir Noël Coward (1899-1973) will take place at the Prince of Wales Theatre in London’s West End on Sunday, November 17, 2024 at 7:30 p.m. and will feature a star-studded line-up including Damian Lewis, Hugh Bonneville, Dame Judi Dench, Cush Jumbo, Robert Lindsay, Gyles Brandreth, Lindsay Duncan, Hilton McRae, Giles Terera and youth groups supported by the Noël Coward Foundation.
This isn’t the first time Damian has paid tribute to Noël Coward. Back in October 2023 Damian performed in Noël Coward’s London Calling at the Duke of York theatre in the West End in honor of 100 years of the musical revue that catapulted Noël Coward and Gertrude Lawrence to stardom.
The Marvellous Party gala will be directed by Royal Shakespeare Company co-artistic director Daniel Evans, with musical direction by Tom Brady. The show will feature excerpts from previously unseen material from Coward’s plays, as well as sketches and songs.
Following Coward’s lifelong support of philanthropic causes, the gala will benefit these three charities: The Queen’s Reading Room, the Noël Coward Foundation, and Acting For Others. The Noël Coward Foundation was established in 2000 and aims to continue Coward’s charitable work by supporting educational and development projects across the performing arts.
