Invictus Games 10th Anniversary Service
The Invictus Games Foundation celebrated 10 years of changing lives and saving lives with a ‘Service of Thanksgiving’ at St Paul’s Cathedral today, May 8, 2024 in London. Damian recited the Invictus poem during the service and was joined by Patron, Prince Harry, The Duke of Sussex, and members of the worldwide Invictus Community to mark the occasion. The original author of the poem is William Henley, who’s memorial bust is on display within the Crypt of St Paul’s Cathedral. This marks a decade since the inaugural Invictus Games London in 2014, founded as a sporting event for injured and sick military personnel and veterans. Damian’s older brother William Russell, former Lord Mayor of London and William’s wife Hilary joined Damian for the event. View more photos and videos from the event in our Gallery here.
The event saw participation from various countries, including Australia, France, and Germany, showcasing the international reach of the games. Prince Harry expressed his commitment to continuing his work with the Invictus Games and helping more service members in need. The anniversary was marked by discussions on the games’ future, with the Invictus Games Foundation aiming to have a greater impact across the world.
