Damian Lewis performs “The Deep” by Anthony Doerr (All the Light We Cannot See) at WordTheatre®, part of the lead up to the announcement of the winner of The Sunday Times EFG Bank Short Story Award, the largest prize in the world for a single short story at £35,000.

Synopsis: Set in Detroit during the Depression, Doerr tells the affecting story of Tom, meant to die of a weak heart before he is 18, who is cossetted by his mother, but shown a world of possibilities by the flame-haired Ruby.
