  • Life updates:

    » Life is scheduled to premiere in the US on September 26th at 10 PM ET on the NBC network opposite Dirty Sexy Money (ABC) and CSI New York (CBS). Episodes will be repeated on the USA Channel after the original broadcast.

    » According to the Sacramento Bee, at the recent NBC Upfront event entertainment president Kevin Reilly described Damian Lewis as “charming” and “funny” and compared him to Hugh Laurie (House) as the “kind of guy who can just bring it all together.”

    » Due to the possibility of a writer’s strike in Hollywood some television programs are beginning production early; no word yet if this includes Life but the show’s producers ordered two additional scripts after filming was completed for the pilot, so that production could begin quickly if the program was picked up.

  • According to Variety the US-based Echo Bridge company has acquired worldwide distribution rights for Love and Virtue, the new medieval epic that will star Damian Lewis as the romantic hero Orlando.
  • This Screen Daily article indicates that representatives of Goalpost Films are currently marketing Rupert Wyatt’s new film The Escapist (featuring Damian Lewis) at the Cannes International Film Festival.
  • The Situation starring Damian Lewis is currently screening in Frederick, MD and in Little Rock, AR; click here to listen to an interview with director Philip Haas.
  • Chromophobia, the Martha Fiennes film starring Damian Lewis, was recently released in Spain and this Variety article indicates that the film is expected to do well there because of the popularity of co-star Penelope Cruz.
  • Digital Spy reports that Helen McCrory is currently filming an updated version of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein for ITV, playing Dr. Victoria Frankenstein, a 21st century biologist responsible for creating a monster; James Purefoy will co-star.
    Variety states that Helen has also been cast alongside Daniel Craig in a new film titled Flashbacks of a Fool that will soon begin production in South Africa and London.
